David Bellecci

The love of nature informs much of my art.
Photography and my imagination are its basis.
Combining papers of varying sorts
     with acrylic pigment on panel allows me to have
                 play and freedom
         in creating the organic shapes
  and textured surfaces in many of my paintings.

David James Bellecci (b. 1958, Oakland, California) obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Music from Cal State Hayward. Since then, he has sung in opera and musical theater, and danced with Jane Brown and Company in the Bay Area. He pursues parallel careers in painting and hair design. Central to his artistry is a deep respect for form, color and beauty; a love of nature in all its manifestations; and a reverence for the harmonious balance and spirit that unites us all.

David currently resides in Port Townsend, WA with his husband and their trio of terriers and perpetually tanked fish.
